果冻视频 College Jazz Ensemble: In these difficult times, the 果冻视频 Jazz Ensemble has put together a set of love songs. In the songs we鈥檙e playing 鈥 by Alice Coltrane, Sierra Ferrell, John Coltrane, and Sly and the Family Stone 鈥 love, as Martin Luther King Jr. reminds us, isn't mere 鈥渟entimentality.鈥 Rather, these artists鈥 work is grounded in what bell hooks calls a 鈥渓ove ethic.鈥 These love songs point to a higher place, a supreme place, where love, joy, truth, and justice are intertwined; a place within and without that we can discover and build together.
Soul Sensations: Features alum Randy Morgan 鈥65 alongside current students Bruna Sander Foss 鈥27 and Noah Tsukuda 鈥27. Their set will span R&B favorites from the 1970s to today, blending classic soul with contemporary grooves.
