Advancing Research on Religion, Politics, and Masculinity
His work will specifically explore intersections among American evangelicalism, political choices, and constructions of masculinity 鈥 with particular attention to White, male demographics.
鈥淭his fellowship will give me added hands-on exposure and research experience with qualitative and quantitative data pertaining to trends tied to religion and politics in the American religious landscape,鈥 Hills said. 鈥淭his includes topics such as Christian nationalism, religious extremism, racism/xenophobia, reproductive rights, and GLBTQ communities and gender. This experience will be of great benefit to my third book project, which addresses elements of masculine gender scripts in popular culture and as expressed and reiterated in American evangelicalism.鈥
